Papal Audience

A delegation of the Centenary Promotion Committee will be granted an audience with the Holy Father. The initiative, undertaken in concert with the Bishop of Carpi, who has always supported the idea of celebrating the centenary of Pietri’s Olympic Marathon from a religious perspective, emphasises the importance of the Christian roots of an athlete who lived his human and sporting life as dictated by the Gospel.
